Sorrento/Capri
Days
9 & 10
4/26- We all recovered from our exploits in and around Minori on the bus. We all were digging the bus hum. But there was not much time to chill because we rounded a couple of corners and found ourselves in Pompeii. Speaking for myself I was not ready to fully grasp the historical significance of this marvel of ancient times. Ciro our guide, was very passionate regarding the city's place in history. Most of us were shocked to learnĀ Pompeii was a thriving community of well to dos of the time for over 600 years before the eruption in 79AD. After this one of a kind experience, we made our way to Sorrento dreaming of capri and the Blue Grotto.

Sorrento
4/26 - We arrived in Sorrento unscathed. We explored the town a bit and headed to the coastal area. It was amazing. Great views and beautiful foliage at every corner. After getting the lay of the land we headed back to our room and did some laundry and planned dinner. We had heard of the "birth place of the cannelloni". After a little research we found ground zero, and it was a few steps from our hotel. OK, we were all in! And we were not dissapointed!

Capri
4/27 - We headed down to the Marina and found our captain and his boat. Some of our tour buddies were heading out on the sister marina and we wondered if we would see them. After a couple of minutes we found four other traverlers that were heading to the blue grotto. A sister duo and a couple from Detroit. We were blessed with perfect weather and perfect seas. We missed our tour buddies but maybe we would catch a glimpse of them during the day?
